for everyone
The day started out okay, got ruined midway, and ended mighty fine. I actually told myself that I wouldn't be going to attend this gig since it was only a week since I last went out to see them. By them I meant, The Bloomfields. And it doesn't hurt that I'm going with friends whom I already miss so darn much (we last got together two weeks ago. shucks, ang tagal na nun! Heh!), and Grace would be selling me her brother's Chalkfarm CD (Yay!). So there - the perfect setting for a great evening. And then some.

Met at Powerbooks in Mega. I was with my officemate/friend, Jey. I've just discovered that Albert loves Wolfgang. Yay! Grace and Fer arrived a little late, and so did Era. Off we went. Went walking, that is. We walked from Mega to Aruba and it was a-ok. It was an opportunity to catch up on stuff. And man did I ever get the juiciest stories!

Unfortunately, or not, every single table was occupied. So we had to stand near the bar, where the view is actually great but the burden to our feet is a little intolerable. Oh well, we came here to cheer and dance and scream and get on our feet ALL night, din't we? Wish granted.

And so the boys walked up the little stage. They never fail to blow me away, those boys! But I must admit, although I love their Beachboys covers, I'm enjoying their Beatles cover more. Can't blame me, I've always been a sucker for the Fab Four. At the risk of sounding braggy, do you know that I can probably sing every single one of 'em songs? Anyhoot...

I guess I was just screamin so loud (and perhaps the deafening silence from 80% of the crowd helped) that the band couldn't help but notice. "Who was that one voice screamin'?", they asked. Thanks to my goooooooood friends, I got to steal the limelight for the Nth time. "it was Lynn!" "Who, Kim?" "LYNN!" "Tim?" "LYNN!!" "Tin?" "LYYYYYYYYYYYYYYNN!!!" "Oh, Lynn!" Hahahahahaha!!! Freakin hi-la-ri-ous! And so Rocky announced that because I was screamin out soooo loud I could be singled out from the crowd, they sang a song to me. A Beatles song. SHE LOVES YOU, baby! Yeah yeah yeah! Weehee!!!

Then there came the moment when the band would sing a happy birthday song to the celebrators. Albert and all my friends, including Jey (some friend! hehe!) were kinna chanting "Lynn" again. So had to make the quickest exit. And even Fer couldn't pull me back. I was at the door in a sec. Man, this is my 3rd birthday this month if ever! LOLx... I was laughing near the door for outwitting them this time, when a guy told me, "ang bilis mo ah! Nandun ka kanina di ba?" Hekhek... It was Mr. Itos Valdes, the band's manager. Napansin pala nya, hehe... I just laughed.

Cute. I was able to talk to each and every band member. Louie, the bassist, bumped into my knees. Hekhek... I hope I din't y'know, hurt him. I said hi to him. Grabeh! Nabakla ako dun ah. Louie's reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally guapo. Greeted Lakan, the keyboardist and Albert's favorite Bloomfield (hehe), a happy birthday. He told me it's not his birthday yet. Sa 28 pa daw. Hehe... funny. Complimented Rocky the drummah, who by the way, just got well from sumthin. Said hi to Jayjay as he shook my hand. At least I think hindi na sya takot sakin. I was starting to feel that because he never said hi to me kahit katabi ko na sila Grace and IANthephotographer, na chummy nya. But funniest is when I tripped Pepe (unintentionally). I said sorry and was actually surprised to see it was him. Man, he was awfully nice. And cute. Hehe... Soft-spoken and all. Sugar-and-spice kinna guy.

Am I starting to sound like a crazed fan? I'm beginning to think that I probably am. Heh!

I loved Louie's performance, and for me he stood out tonight. He did most of the powerful lead vocals (and playing bass at that!) that brought down the house. Like a bassist Elvis and Chuck Berry. But then again, Jayjay's The Way I Feel Inside by The Zombies made me go Awwww.... *sniff* I also loved She's Not There. Pepe's Do You Love Me by Dave Clark Five was really good also. I think it was the final straw that made me lose my voice. Yeap, I lost my voice this time.

And hell my friends are all wacky and wild tonight. Wackier and wilder than usual. I was havin so much fun! We would dance and get the purple lights on our faces. Don't blame us, everybody else was dead. Hehe...

And oh, did chat a little with Jayjay and Pepe's parents. They kinna remembered us from Dish. Those boys are so lucky to have such supportive parents.

Too bad the night had to end. Too bad I had to go to work the next day. Oh well, it's almost end of the week, and there's always next week, right? Kampaii!!!

Yeah yeah yeah!

for everyone

The BLOOMFIELDS is the youngest and the bestest 60's rock and roll-inspired group in the local scene today. They do mean renditions of The Beatles, Beachboys, The Ventures, Dave Clark Five, Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, The Zombies, etc. etc.
